St. Louis
St. Louis has been named as one of America's 50 Fabulous Gay-Friendly
Places to Live according to a new book by author Gregory Kompes.
Kompes cited St. Louis' tolerant environment, extensive cultural attractions and
fun nightlife among the reasons that make the Gateway City an "outstanding
living environment and high quality of life for the gay and lesbian community."

San Diego

Ten years ago, downtown San Diego was one step above skid row. Shopping was
almost non-existent, bars, restaurants and coffee shops were few and far between
and no one even entertained the idea of living in the place. Now,
however, downtown San Diego has gone from the little city that could to a
veritable mini-Manhattan.

Key West
Key West lies at the end of the world's longest dead end street - a 113-mile
road that arcs southward from Miami into the heart of the tropical Caribbean. A
tiny coral isle four miles square, it is the southernmost point in the USA, just
90 miles north of Cuba. Situated in the heart of the hurricane zone, somehow it
survives against the all the odds. Perhaps that's part of its queer
appeal.

Fort Lauderdale

years, catapulted onto the gay travel 'A-List' with its warm, sunny weather all
year long and clean, dazzling beaches. An explosion of bars, restaurants, retail
shops and accommodations in recent years has made Fort Lauderdale a gay
Mecca drawing an estimated 600,000+ gay tourists each year.

Denver
Although its roots are firmly planted in the gold rush that originally
settled the area, Denver quickly became the culture and commerce center of the
entire region. The central downtown area is a convenient home to hot nightspots,
a performing arts center, amusement park, scores of restaurants, shopping and
